Hi,was just wondering which type of cruise boat you would recommend for the least motion sickness. We have heard that the type of boat is more important than the roughness of the water.

I can recommend either one of the larger Galapagos Islands cruise ships

The Galapagos Explorer, Galapagos Legend, The SAnta Cruz

Choosing a catamaran which is more stable than a monohaul yacht.

There are several catamarans you can choose from. I can recommend the Galapagos Journey which I had the opportunity to cruise on board in 2009.

You can also decide upon December - April when the sea is most calm.

Good luck,

I totally agree with the last statement. Just came back from a cruise with the Santa Cruz. Don`t think that anybody on board had problems with sea sickness. They also offer pills for free. Just in case.

But just go to a travel agency and ask for more information. I personally booked at Midland Trace and it I paid less than most of the other guys on the boat. But most of the travel agencies in Ecuador offer similar prices (some 100 or 200 dollars more or less for a cruise.)Metropolitain touring would be the direct provider for Santa Cruz.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

A further recommendation: Go for 6 days at least. Only flight and park entrance are so expensive. And there is a lot to see. ;)
